Up for auction is a lot of two (2) vintage to antique lockets. Each is different on the outside...both engraved and very pretty. One opens left to right, the other opens right to left both have well working clasps. They are gold filled of varying karat yet both are shiney yellow gold...without damage...and could use a rub with a polishing cloth. One has two photos complete with original insert border frames and celluloid protective sheets and an unsual removable tab bail...the other is set with a diamond. These have not been cleaned or polished and are sold as is, uncleaned. They are appropriately sized for use as pendants or charms or for some other creative re-use. In Pic 6, t is a U.S. Quarter Dollar coin to left-hand side of locket (Locket No. 2) to help you evaluate their sizes. Please see below for the particulars of each locket, refer to Photo 1, top locket is Locket # 1 and the bottom locket below-described is Locket #2. Locket #1: Sweet. Hallmarked on the interior lip of the locket: 1-20 12KGF. The photos haven't been removed so I am uncertain as to whether t any further markings under them...i.e., a maker's mark or etched in info. All parts are present on this piece: 'fancy' style tab bail with a floral design which co-ordinates with an old time flower and foliate design that drapes over a center shield shape (no monogram) on the front outer case, the reverse side is polished...and both sides have a bevel like perimeter edging. It opens right to left, the interior reveals old photos, one is a brown haired woman and the other is a cute smiling fellow with wire rim glasses, these individuals look to be in their 20's-30's. Approximate measurements: 5/8" wide x about 1" long x 3/16" deep; and weight: 3.1g Locket #2: Sweet. Company mark and hallmark located on interior, impressed into a thin gold sheet - heart shaped: 1-20 10K G.F. PSCO. No fittings on interior yet locket may hold photos or other small momentos. The exterior front case has a good looking hand engraved center surface with a raised (embossed?) floral border (the border is the same on the backside of the locket but its interior field is undorned with engraving). On the front, at center front t is a small white metal mounting, square in shape with beaded detailing which is set with tiny 1mm clear faceted stone; it tests positive for a diamond on a Presidium Gem Tester. The bail is a 'fancy' scrolled one and the locket opens left to right. The measurements are close to those of the aboved listed locket: 5/8" x 1 but this locket is just a bit thinner...about 1/8" thick; and weight a bit more: 3.6g. Even though these are not new they are very pretty and in what I would consider excellent vintage to antique condition as is, uncleaned and will polish up some if you desire although they are shiney and look good just as they set. I figured whomever liked one of these would probably like them both...so they are sold as a lot. The low opening price is meant to stimulate auction action -- early and often bidding, and is not a reflection on their quality or condition.
