This auction includes two books from the Marvel origins series, published by Fireside in the mid-1970s. One is the first printing, hardcover version of Marvel Comics' "Bring On The Bad Guys", published by Fireside in 1976. It includes reprints of stories with classic villains like Doctor Doom, the Green Goblin, the Abomination, Red Skull, Loki, Dormammu, and Mephisto battling their hero counterparts the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange, and the Silver Surfer. The artwork is by legends like Jack Kirby, John Romita, Steve Ditko, and John Buscema. This copy is in very good condition, with some edge wear and corner bends, and a small pencil mark near the bottom of the back cover. The binding is tight and the interior is clean. The dustjacket is missing. The other is a softcover version of "Origins of Marvel Comics", published in 1974 (4th printing). It features reprints of the origins of the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Hulk, and Thor, and classic stories guest-starring the Silver Surfer, the Sub-Mariner, and more, as rendered by artists Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Herb Trimpe, and John Romita.
