This auction is for 2 German Porcelain Beer containers. Both are lithopane or lithophane depending on how you spell it. A lithophane is a picture buried in the porcelain mold that shows when held up to light, so, the faster you drink the beer, the sooner you get to see the lovely ladies. Both are nudes. The first piece is a lidded stein that measures 9 1/2 inches tall to the top of the finial, the base 4 1/2 inches wide. Pictures 2 thru 7 show all aspects of this stein. It was purchased by or for Dane A. Hill Esq. It reads Svc Btry 2d Bn 5th Field Arty. The marks on the bottom say Heinrich Korb Porzellan Manfaktur Eberbach/N Germany. He was probably stationed in Ulm, Germany from 1986-1987 as that is what is marked on the side. The second one is a beer mug as it has no lid and never did. It measures 6 7/8 inches tall and the bottom is 4 1/2 inches wide. T is bit of light wear to the gold trim on this one. The name on it is Alfred Noffsinger. It has a street scene of Ansbach, Germany, the Ansbach coat of arms and a German coat of arms. Pictures 8 thru 11 show the sides of this. The bottom mark says Ansbach Bavaria. This would make a great gift for someone who collects beer mugs, German items, or militaria. We are a family enterprise operating out of several locations.
