Goniatite Ammonite Size: 4.24" x 3.25" x 1.73" 108mm x 82mm x 44mm Weight: 15 oz 425 grams Location: Morocco Goniatite Ammonite polished fossil from Morocco. This 4.2" polished fossil shows the divisions of the animal's chamber walls replaced with white Calcite crystal. There are a few light natural fractures seen in the Ammonite, this is common to the material, not a repair or damage. The last of the Ammonite's surviving lines disappeared with the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, although this piece is much older. As it grew, it added newer and larger chambers to the open end of the spiral. Only the last and largest chamber was occupied by the living animal at any given moment.
