These are two vintage hand painted mechanical wooden bottle stoppers, with real cork bottoms. Each is 4 1/2" tall. They are definitely old, but they have no markings, so I don't know how old they are. They look very similar to mechanical bottle stoppers made by ANRI. These stoppers remind me of little ventriloquist's dummies. The stopper with the black hat has a lever on his back. When you push down on the lever, his mouth opens slightly. His hat has a chip in the front and his cork has a chip off the back. These are the only flaws I see with this bottle stopper. No flaked paint. The other bottle stopper has no chips, and only a few white paint flecks on his left front, but his lever is stuck, so his mouth no longer opens and shuts mechanically. Thanks for looking.
