Giant Squid Astern Sir! Up for auction is an outstanding original fine art print depicting the Nautilus from the 1954 movie, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. I administer a large Nautilus club and this limited edition fine art print was masterful executed by one of our members as a fund raiser back in October of 2006. The creator is David McCamant who is a a professional artist whose work can be seen in California galleries. The theme of this piece is when the Nautilus was attacked by the giant Squid. It was at this very moment that the first mate looked through the aft window of the wheelhouse and exclaimed to Captain Nemo: "Giant Squid Astern Sir!" And in the next few minutes the Nautilus and her crew would fight for their lives. Sadly, we are forced to sell this collectible to pay for on going club expenses. Overall Dimensions of the print is 24" X 36" and printed using the Finest Archival Inks onto High Quality Semi-Gloss Acid Free Poster Stock, and of course is suitable for Framing. It was printed using the highly respected Giclee print process and is signed by the artist. Total number of prints was limited to 56 editions and no more will be produced, Tfore, this is a high collectable art print sure to increase in value. However, this is not just one of the LE runs but an even rarer "artist proof of which 5 were made. The prints has 2/5 AP and the artists signature. In addition, t is a separate Artist Notes print that tells about the fine art print, the artist and includes statistical information in pencil by the artist. Again this is Artist Proof number two. At the bottom of the print are the words: Jules Vern's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, in a beautiful script similar to the titles in the famous movie. And flanking each side is a fancy script paying homage to the movie's designer and the Artist and Title of the print. It reads: Dedicated to the Nautilus as Designed by Harper Goff - "Giant Squid Astern Sir!" by David McCamant (see photo inset). The Nautilus itself is expertly and accurately rendered as our group is international known as the world's leading experts on the Nemo Nautilus. Witness the Salon lights and the Wheelhouse Alligator Eye food lamps blazing into the deep inky deeps of the ocean as the giant squid out stretches its' tentacles in preparation to grasp the Nautilus in her death grip. If you you were aboard the Nautilus at this very moment, would you be composed enough to simply shout our "Giant Squid Aster Sir?" No picture frame is included but I pictured one to give you framing ideas. Shipping is free and your fine art print will be carefully rolled into a large shipping tube using cotton gloves to protect your investment.
