A beautiful very scarce 19th century antique Clews Staffordshire Brown Transferware Platter. Signed on the back, "Picturesque View Newburg Hudson River" with impressed Clews mark in center. The platter measures a very large 20" across x 16" wide. The platter is in good condition for its age, there has been 2 old minor touchups to the outer edges. One on the bottom front edge at 5 o'clock, and one on the very outside side edge into the back side edge, almost invisible from the front. Other than that a few tiny normal signs of wear around edges and a small factory mark near center. Overall condition clearly shown in photos. Still a very nice piece offered with no reserve, which could easily be cleaned up by a professional if need be.
