For sale is a $20 Series 1914 Federal Reserve Notes, issued by the Richmond VA district, which has the rare Carter Glass signature. The Friedberg catalog number is Fr. 981. It is almost as rare as the Fr. 1005 Dallas $20 Glass signature (the key to the set) and the Friedberg price for Fr 981 is $175, (the same as for the Dallas Glass signed $20). The Gengerke census shows fewer than 30 serial numbers for this note, and that alone would probably give it a value well into four figures if it were not a 1914 FRN. It is totally original, and shows no stains, grafiti or tears. All in all it is a very respectable example of a really scarce large size $20. This may be the last one of these to be on the market for a while! This scarce note is offered without reserve.
