This is an old collection of truly vintage photos that span the lives of two NYC families from the 1920's through the 1930s with a few from the 40s. I got these from an estate maybe 30+ years ago. I can tell you that these pictures are primarily from a family that lived in Washington Heights, which is in upper Manhattan, some photos are from a family in the Bronxville. How did I determine the age. Many of the pictures have the dates on the back, written in old pen and ink. BTW: the handwriting is immaculate. The pictures themselves represent the 20s and 30s very well. The cars, dresses, suits hair styles are right out of the era. The group consists of approximately 200 photos of varying size, many are 4x5, 3x4, t are several large family 8x10s, and portrait 5x7s but the most interesting are the snapshots. Iâe(tm)ve tried to group the photos in a cross sampling of activities, so in the five sample photos youâe(tm)ll see different settings. For example t are beach scenes, family scenes, scenes in the country, country scenes, vacation scenes. T are historical scenes of family outings to Plymouth Rock, Washington, NYC outings. Many of the photos state the occasion, again in beautiful flowing script. T is also an old tintype? And all sorts of personal stuff (I donâe(tm)t want any of it) T are a few little orange photo books of snap shots,
