Welcome to my auction for a 2000 Fender USA American Stratocaster Deluxe body in Ash with fantastic grain set off by an awesome Natural transparent finish in EXC++ condition. I purchased this body back in 2000 and it has been carefully stored since then - another project guitar that was never finished! My loss may be your gain... this body is in fantastic condition with no material defects, and the paint/wood grain combination is inspiring. Check out the pictures to see what I mean at: https:///redir?resid=219ED54A6FFA0CBE%21685 This generation of deluxes came in around 1997 after the 'Strat Plus Deluxe' era, and the transparent - often incorrectly described as translucent - ash finishes were the hallmark of this range - in fact guitars with these bodies cost $100 more than the solid finish guitars, and with good reason - the wood had to be much more carefully selected and matched. This one is a 3-piece body but the matching is very skilful and from the top could easily be taken as a 2-piece or 1-piece body. This one is light too - nicely resonant, it may well be swamp ash looking at the grain pattern. This body is in great condition with no major defects and weighs in at 4 lbs 1 oz. Please note that these bodies predate the rebated heel, so if you mount a later deluxe neck you will need to drill a 5th hole. Or you can use an
