Celebrating the Native American heritage, the obverse depicts Sacagawea with her son, Jean Baptiste, who was born while she and her husband were guiding the Lewis and Clark expedition from the Northern Great Plains to the Pacific Ocean and back. Selected from 80 design submissions, Glenna Goodacre, an artist living in Santa Fe, N.M., designed the obverse. Goodacre located a 22-year old Shoshone college student who modeled for her. The reverse was designed by Tom Rogers of the U.S. Mint engraving staff and was selected from 41 design submission proposals. The reverse depicts a soaring eagle. The buyer will receive the coin pictured - 15001.67/72493060. The coin offered is a stunning example of a Mint State 67 PCGS grade designation, displaying full mint brilliance and contrasting, frost engraved features. Any perceived flaws are a result of reflection during photography. It is a superb, gem quality coin. FREE USPS FIRST CLASS SHIPPING!
