Gretsch 5129 Electromatic Firebird Red with upgrades 2008 125th Anniversary Gretsch No longer in production and better than current Electromatics and some with the upgrades I've added. This is a beautiful guitar that still looks as good as new, it pains me to part with, however my house renovation needs more funds and I have to sell. I've had this guitar from new. I used to play this regularly in a Rockabilly band I was in a few years ago, but for the last couple of years it’s hardly been played and mainly been in its case. I have always looked after this guitar very well and purchased a genuine Gretsch G6241 hard case for it when I bought it – I will include the case in the sale (This cost £130 new). It has DeArmond 2000 single-coil pickups which sound amazing for a Rockabilly sound – far more so than the current run of Electromatics. The guitar has been professionally set up with 11 gauge strings The Upgrades: The Bigsby compensated bridge which the guitar came with has been swopped out for a custom made Tru-Arc bridge. These are hand made in the US and really improve the feel and tone of the guitar, they are like the old Gretsch rocking bar bridges, but bent to match the exact radius of the fret board (Duane Eddy has one fitted to his Gretsch ).
