2009 China 30th Anniversary Silver Panda 1-oz GEM BU Coin This auction is for a 2009 1-ounce Brilliant Uncirculated 30th Anniversary Silver Panda from China. On the obverse is a picture of the Hall of Praying for Good Harvest of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The coin's reverse bears the same Panda design as depicted on the standard 2009 Silver Panda coin. These new commemoratives, however, feature a ring surrounding the Pandas with the inscription "30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ISSUANCE OF THE CHINESE MODERN PRECIOUS METAL COMMEMORATIVE COINS." As is the case with all silver Panda coins, this special Panda commemorative is 99.9% PURE Silver and is LEGAL TENDER. This coin is the size of a U.S Silver Dollar and contains 1-ounce of 0.999 pure silver. It has a 10-Yuan denomination on the reverse. The China Panda series of coins was originally introduced in 1982, and has become a very popular collectors' item. The coin comes in a protective plastic capsule directly from the Chinese Mint, and I'll include a velvet drawstring pouch. This is really a very beautiful coin with lots of sparkle and eye-appeal.
