2009 United States Mint Lincoln Coin & Chronicle Set This five-coin set contains genuine U.S. Mint proof coins, produced to the exacting standards of the artisans and craftsmen of the United States Mint. Each coin is produced from carefully selected planchets, or coin blanks, that have been burnished to a high luster. The polished blanks, which are carefully handled to minimze scratches and abrasions, are struck on specially adapted coining presses. Each coin is struck at least twice to bring forth every detail with remarkable clarity. Included in this set is a 2009 Abraham Lincoln Commorative Proof Silver Dollar, struck in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President on September 27, 2006, as Public Law 109-285. This coin was produced to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. Also included in this set are four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Lincoln's image appears on the obverse of each one-cent coin. The reverses reflect four different designs, each one representing a different aspect, or theme, of the life of President Lincoln: Birth in Kentucky (1809-1816), Formative Years in Indiana (1816-1830), Professional Life in Illinois (1830-1861) and Presidency in Washington, D.C. (1861-1865). Minted at the United States
