2009 PEANUTS 60TH ANNIVERSARY NEW Hallmark keepsake Ornament . Condition is New. Shipped with USPS First Class in a box to protect the box and ornament. From a smoke and pet free home.Peanuts 60th Anniversary The 60 years of Peanuts began when Charles Schulz sold his cartoon Li'l Folks to United Feature Syndicate in 1950. Thinking the name was too close to other strips, UFS renamed it Peanuts. Schulz drew every Peanuts comic strip (nearly 18,000) himself for 50 years. By his wish, there would be no new Peanuts comics drawn and published after his death. However, because of their charm and timeless themes, reruns of this beloved strip continue to appear in over 2,200 newspapers. This ornament features the original styling from the 1950's and the strip shown on the base dates from December 28, 1951.
