This Peruvian PARROT carving has a great assortment of colorful gemstones used, and great detail. Turquoise Chrysocolla body, Serpentine inset at the crown of it's head, along with it's tail. The breastbone has an insert of Sodalite. The neck is Andean Red Jasper. It stands on a great specimen of quartz which is secured to a base of black Onyx. The parrot measures 4 4/3" (12.2 cm) tall. Weight is 171 grams (6.1 ounces). Photos are taken in natural light so that you can better see the quality and detail of the carving. New stone carvings are coming from Peru, where a number of families are employed to do the carving ~ they are truly beautiful.
