You are bidding on a 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Proof Silver Dollar. ( US Mint # BY1 ) This Centennial Silver Dollar Proof comes with a Certificate of Authorization and is unopened as it came from the mint. ( The photos are my stock photos as I have a quantity of these Silver Dollar Proofs. ) The coin is no longer being sold by the US Mint. This proof is extraordinarily brilliant and features sharp relief and a mirror like background to highlight the images on both sides of the coin. The head side (obverse) depicts a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting. It is a dramatic representation of how the Boy Scouts of America have evolved over the past century to form a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for all the youth of America. The reverse side features the Boy Scouts of America's universal emblem. Only 350,000 coins were produced by the mint. None will be produced again. Not only does this Silver Dollar Proof have collector value, but silver continues to climb in price. One cannot go wrong owning this collectible coin.
