This listing is a for a beautiful, newly released $1 BOY SCOUTS of AMERICA PROOF Silver dollar Commemorative coin. The coin is graded as a numismatically perfect PR70 DCAM by PCGS , and being freshly graded, no issues that need to be addressed up front. IN STOCK! The obverse (heads side) depicts a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting. Inscriptions are CONTINUING THE JOURNEY , 1910 , 2010 , IN GOD WE TRUST , and LIBERTY . This design represents the Boy Scouts of America of today, as the organization has recognized the need to include other programs for younger boys (Cub Scouts) and older boys and girls (Venturers), reflecting the diversity of our Nation. It is a dramatic representation of how the Boy Scouts of America has evolved over the past century to form a strong foundation of leadership, service and community for all the youth of America.The reverse (tails) features the Boy Scouts of America’s universal emblem. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA , BE PREPARED , E PLURIBUS UNUM , and ONE DOLLAR . United States proof coins are extraordinarily brilliant, with sharp relief and a mirror-like background. Their frosted, sculpted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect. Proof blanks are specially treated, polished and cleaned to ensure high quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with hand-polished dies and struck at least twice to ensure sharp relief.
