Riding into space on this historic mission was an anthropomorphic test device (ATD), a "dummy" named 'Ripley', fitted with sensors around its head, neck and spine to gather data ahead of SpaceX's second Crew Dragon demo mission, DM- 2 , with NASA astronauts on board.The launch by SpaceX engineers was controlled from the Kennedy Space Center Firing Room 4, formerly used by Space Shuttle launch control. After launch SpaceX commanded the Crew Dragon spacecraft from its mission control center in Hawthorne, California . ISS Docking was planned for 6:05 a.m. March 3rd.
