This is a wonderful collectible set of the Complete Works of Washington Irving. The set was printed by G.P. Putnam of New York in 1859. The spines state that this is the Sunnyside Edition. The binding is leather with five raised bands on the spine and leather on the corners, with the center of the boards being marbled. The inside covers and the edges are also marbled. The set is complete in 21 volumes. The bindings are all tight and there are no loose pages. The only visible damage or sign of age is the small tear at the top of volume 17 (visible in picture 2) and some wear and rounding/bending on the corners of many of the volumes. Each volume has several pages of illustrations (woodcut prints) at the beginning. Overall, this is an amazing set and well worth it for any collector. Similar sets are listed from booksellers for around $600-800, although I could not find any sets that matched this one. Please email with any questions or for additional pictures.
