One of a kind 24 karats gold plated plato clock. Own a piece of history with this fabulous antique, "Plato Clock", with early digital celluloid flip card numbers, in wonderful condition! Brass body has no dings/dents, Clock case measures approx 5" tall (6-1/4" with handle), x 3" long x 2-5/8" wide. The clock ticks and the numbers flip, Four pieces of beveled glass in excellent condition with no chips, plated with 24 karats gold, gold will not tarnish or oxidize like brass and other metals. the bottom plate shows the name as the Plato clock and the date of manufacture DEC.16.1902-APR.28.1903, the clock is over 100 years old and due to it's age I can not guarantee the accuracy. The Plato Clock was patented by Eugene L. Fitch in New York City in 1903, and production commenced in 1904. It was featured in the Ever Ready Exhibit at the 1904 St Louis World's Fair.
