(*** ABSOLUTELY No "0" feedback bidders on this auction please!***) This is a really HARD TO FIND Waterman's pen and pencil set, ca.1926. It is the statuesque, rare, large No. 01955 model in Red and Black "Ripple" Hard Rubber. This model is actually MUCH RARER than the No.55 models (themselves nice to have!) which do not come with the gold-filled derbies on pen and pencil (see photos). Both pieces work like they should. The pen measures a LARGE 5 & 5/8 inches capped and 7 inches posted. Both have nice heft and balance . The color is VIBRANT, EVEN and SUPERB on both pieces! The crown on the gold-filled shell on the cap of the pen has separated a bit, probably from expansion of the rubber underneath (see photos). T is also a bit of plating wear in that area. Even so, the pen and set is wonderful and one you will be proud to own! The set comes nestled in "THE TREAURE CHEST OF TODAY" hard-shell Waterman's case (see photos). This case itself is pretty DARN RARE to find! No other manufacturer âe" Parker, Eversharp, Conklin, Sheaffer made hard rubber Ripples like Waterman's did!Neither pen nor pencil has an cracks, gouges, personalizations or other problems (other than the separation of a part of the derby as mentioned above). Even the "feed" of the pen is made of red RIPPLE hard rubber (see photo). The bottom of the barrel is marked 5 read more
