3 Dancing Sword Cavalry Saber for Belly Dance -3 Colors This is for a set of three simple and elegant, yet inexpensive swords that can be made to balance correctly for belly dancing, or other such similar dance forms. The sword handles has just enough detail to suggest the head and neck of a horse. From it's mouth issues the knuckle bow, all made in brass. The delicately curved blades are lightly etched with swirling design work covering both sides of each blade. These swords are not sharp, though the tip is very pointed. This set comes with each: a sword with a green velvet over wood scabbard, a sword with a purple velvet over wood scabbard, and a sword with a red velvet over wood scabbard. A line of gold trim is applied to the center front of each of the scabbards. Scabbard fittings are of a thin, delicate brass. Because of this, the fittings are easily dented, and may arrive with surface dents and dings. The center fitting on the scabbards are unattached and slightly loose so that they won't mar the velvet of the scabbards.Total length of the swords without scabbard is appx. 32 inches. Length of blade is appx. 28 inches. These swords are steel with a full length tang. They should be fine for theatrical work, but are not recommended for fighting. Please remember first and foremost, this is a weapon, and proper care should be taken when working with this weapon to not hurt ones-self or others. For these blades to balance well, as shown by the second and fifth photos, the handle simply needs to be flipped from the right handed direction to the left handed direction. The right hand direction, the normal directionality for the hilt, is illustrated most clearly in photo 6, but can somewhat be distinguished in photos 4 and 5. Photo 3 shows two swords, one with the hilt facing in the right hand direction and the other with the sword facing in the left hand direction. In the right hand hilt direction, this is a beautiful ceremonial sword. With the left hand direction hilt, this sword transforms into a beautiful and well balanced lightweight dance sword. The brass nut can simply be removed from the full tang of the sword, the hilt flipped, and the brass nut replaced.Please note: this auction is for a full set of three swords, each in a differently colored scabbard.
