This auction is selling 3 of the CD V-742 dosimeters - the fountain pen shaped items that you see in my picture, they came in a box with a1962 era Civil Defense Geiger Counter Radiation Testing Kit that probably dates its origins from the 1950s ... the kit was designed to detect and measure gamma ray radiation dose rates as high as 500 roentgens per hour...t is a stamp on the kit's contents saying that it was last serviced or inspected in 1983...the geiger counter that was in the kit has been sold already, it was a " CDV-720 " ... I'm sure the contents of this kit are in working condition ( although I do not know how to test any of them ) ..., by that I mean that it was only ever taken out and tested by the Fallout Shelter's designated equipment certifiers and after the testing was completed the batteries were removed and so the contents are completely clean and new, having only ever been tested ... The outside is a little dusty and t is some fading of the enamel but it is in " factory new " condition other than the dustyness in my photograph... This was used in a civil defense shelter / monitor station ... In the event of a nuclear attack it was to be used to monitor radiological readings...I am selling ONLY the 3 DOSIMETERS in this auction ( 3 ) of the - CD V-742 Dosimeter which is used to read the radiation sampling device's results
