Treasure Chest of Fun & Fact Vol. 16 #1 1960; Vol. 16 #9 1961; Vol. 20 #19 1965 Treasure Chest was a Catholic-oriented comic book that was distributed in parochial schools from 1946 to 1972. It featured inspirational stories about subjects like sports, folk heroes, saints, Catholic living, history, science and more. The art and writing were on a consistently high level, with contributions from important artists like Graham Ingels, Joe Orlando, Joe Sinnott, and Murphy Anderson. Other features included literary adaptations and funny animal strips.Vol. 6 #9 (included in this lot) is of particular interest because it features a story outlining the Catholic Church's position on the theory of evolution. The harmony between science and religion expressed is still relevant, and refreshing, today.Condition- Vol. 16 #9 is a clean copy with just a couple of creases and small abrasions on the cover. Grade- Fine. Vol. 20 #19 is in similar condition, but the cover is detached from the top staple. Grade- Very Good. Vol.16 #1 is a nice reading copy with light pages. The front cover is detached and the back cover is missing.
