Summary condition Challenge !! find a cleaner UK copy than this for the money !! (and it's rarer than the 33cx edition ) SOUND SAMPLE GUIDE First 2 minutes 35 seconds is of opening side 1, Beautifully clean, hardly a pip or a tic, BOTH SIDES Visually spotless as well (NM) side TWO STARTS at 2 minutes 55 seconds, AND PLAYS UNTIL SAMPLE COMPLETION WHICH IS THE REMAINDER OF THE 6 MINUTE 34 second SAMPLE IN TOTAL. BE aware the sound sample talked about IS A LOW SAMPLE RATE AND accentuates treble (Hence more static crackle that you DON'T hear through your Hi Fi) and is low quality, but you get the idea. This LP has the same stamper numbers as the rare Columbia UK Columbia pressing stock No. 33CX 1395. LP NM Cover EXC+. HOWEVER THEY ARE HAND ETCHED NOT BLOCK PRINTED AS THE ORIGINALS ARE LP Wet Washed and test played twice FULL TEST PLAY REPORT BELOW. Leonid Kogan (Violin) and London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Basil Cameron play Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 2 in G Minor Op. 61 and Leonid Kogan and the Philharmonia Orchestra conductor Otto Ackerman play Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major K.216 I would challenge you to find an original blue and gold label UK issue that sounds cleaner than this, super quiet vinyl,and rarely tics or pops. same stamper numbers as Columbia UK 33CX 1395 Mono Lp (never issued in Stereo SAX series). Stampers side 1 XAX 886 (also 2xs 1740.2) Stampers side 2 XAX 887 (also 2XS 1741) The extra numbers maybe the australian numbers? Record fully test played test play report below SOME STAMPER NUMBERS MAYBE VISIBLE IN THE SUPERSIZE PHOTO'S I thought someone might like a reasonably priced analogue production compared to 125GBP for the original(2006 values guide) and appreciate it for the sound, and not because its a valuable investment as the originals have become. If you already have an original Columbia pressing, Buy THIS lp and You can play it instead of wearing out your original 33cx 1395 investment ! My LP as advertised, Issued Originally and exclusively in australia through EMI Mail order in Australia, (World Record Club) Australia, THIS IS AN AUSTRALIAN PRESSING These are probably rarer than the originals, issued in a country at the time in the 60's with a total population of 12 million people, and only available by mail order (A lot of Aussies back then had to buy by mail, not many people lived near a record retailer back then. I lived on a farm 300 km from a record shop(Big Country) COVER- not much to say other than the exclusive Australian cover is nm MINUS, Flipback cover has no writing on, no signs of yellowing or tears rips or creases T. This record has been looked after. I would go so far as to say possibly never playe until I got hod of it for a test play LP' is shiny with Minimal paper scuffs only in very bright light . LP was dust free , NO spindle marks are on either sides labels, the original pressing lustre is as good as the day it left the press. I would suggest there is a possibility this has only been played a few times at MOST. .Record has been wet washed . Full test play confirmed its glossy condition as Near Mint, little occasional pops and tics ,but nothing associated with damage, all standard mono replay quality 33cx series. Even the flat edged run in has only one or two small pips in test play, sign of little removal from the sleeve. These early WRC pressings from columbia Monos are few and far between in Australia, and are some of the best australian pressed monos in my humble opinion.
