This cute bear was chainsaw carved in Iowa by Panther Creek Chainsaw Carving. I am not positive of the wood species, as I get most logs from a tree removal service, but I do believe it is black willow. Finer detail was added using grinders and small tools. Total sculpture height is 34 inches, including the 8 inch base; weight is 39 pounds. He is realistically proportioned and has a highly detailed face with quality glass eyes . He would make a perfect addition to a cabin or front porch. He was first coated with a wood preservative that acts as both a fungicide and insecticide. Then he was covered with a coat of another high quality wood preservative designed to penetrate and help protect against cracking splitting, sap stain, mold and mildew and the environmental forces of wind, rain, snow, ice and ultra violet light. The finish is a breathable, non-film forming water repellant that will not crack or peel. In other words, he can be placed indoors or outdoors. Care instructions will be provided.
