This is an Original Noel Rockmore from 1968 Titled: Young Yeshiva N.Y. It is an 11 X 13 Watercolor & Pen on paper and NOT framed but nicely matted in a 14x11 matte. It is from the Shirley Marvin Collection and it is from her SketchBook #10 - Titled: 1 968 Israel & NYC Studies It is the 7th page of the Sketchbook is titled and signed Rockmore. The catalog Number within the Shirley Marvin Collection given to this work is 68.391 This work was purchased directly from The Artist, Noel Rockmore, by Shirley Marvin and comes with a letter of authenticity. There is a Story behind this Noel Rockmore artwork. This work is actually a study for his Israel Wailing Wall series that he was working on for Victor Potamkin. In early 1968, Noel Rockmore was sent on a commission assignment to Israel by his managers at the time, Victor Potamkin (World Famous Cadillac Dealer) and Sergio Franchi (World famous tenor). The idea was that they would manage Rockmore, who they knew was a major talent, and procure shows for him at the right museums with the right works and the best presentation of the artist. Sam Potamkin, Victor's brother, was sent along on the Israel expedition perhaps to keep an eye on Rockmore or perhaps to help and enjoy the experience.
