A gorgeous 3 piece set of vintage signed Miguel Melendez STERLING SILVER MEXICAN Modernist Pendant/BROACH and EARRINGS. The amethyst stones are set to dangle. The pendant can be pinned with the safety latch pin or made into a broach with the loop at the top back. The earrings are screw back. The pendant measures 2" long x 2" wide. The earrings are 1.5" long and all 3 pieces are in very good vintage condition. Miguel Melendez apprenticed at Spratling's Taller de las Delicias, in the early 1940's he moved on to Los Castillo, and later worked for Margot de Taxco. His independent work seems to stem from the 50's & 60's & 70's, at first more traditional designs with abalone and stone chip inlay, later with some original modernist pieces featuring facet cut amethyst and alexandrite gemstones.Shipping: I ship via USPS only.
