THIS IS PART OF MY VAST CIVIL WAR ERA COLLECTION I WILL BE LISTING IN THE COMING WEEKS. STARTING TODAY (MARCH 16TH). HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, April 4, 1863 The front page shows: "Break in the Mississippi Levee Near the Canal at Vicksburg" & "Cutting Away the Dam at the Head of the Vicksburg Canal". Inside prints include a full page: "A Wedding in the Army of the Potomac" and also: 'A Night Scout in the Southwest--Surprise of an Outpost & Survey of the Rebel Guns" which is by Thomas Nast. Another fullpg. Nast is: "Arrival of a Federal Column at a Planter's House in Dixie". A full page has 3 scenes of: "The Army of the Cumberland--Bridge Over West Fork of Stone River, Built by General Mitchell" and "...The Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad, Looking South" and "...Headquarters of Major-General McCook, Commanding 20th Army Corps". Another fullpg. has: "Warrenton From our Batteries" and "Sunset Gun in the Yazoo". There are also smaller prints of "Brig. General Robert B. Mitchell" and "Brig. General Leonard F. Ross" and a halfpg: "Sale of Confiscated Blood-Horses at New Orleans". I will have more of these 1863 to list throughout the coming weeks. most are in good condition.
