4 Bakelite Mess Hall Tumblers US Military Issue 1952 Near mint condition, no damage, little to no wear. Four (4) drinking glass tumblers made of Bakelite, military issue for use in mess halls. Marked on the bottom "GS - US - 1952", see photo above...doesn't quite show all the markings. Maker unknown. I think GS might stand for Government Services, the agency which would have contracted the order for these tumblers. Each one measures 4 and 3/8th inches tall and 3 inches in diameter across the top.
