Each of these original photos measure 5" x 7" and mounted on their cards measure 9" x 7"....I am not able to tell you the city in which this flooding is occurring....I got the photos from a family that lived in Wichita around 1900...I found a listing on the internet for an Archie McVicar showing him as a Druggist's Clerk in Topeka in 1885....obviously this is later than that, as Archie now has his own Drug Store. 1) Photo with Drug Store sign...shows 2 women in a canoe with men and children standing in the water on the street corner...horse and wagons in the background....photo image is good, but photo has some damage---large black mark to the left of the canoe...7 or 8 small black circles at right edge area of photo....card has area torn off at lower right. 2) Street scene with men wading through the water and horses and buggies and wagons...shows many businesses, some which you can make out with a magnifying glass...photo has some development problems as it has a dark area along left edge and a blurred, lighter area at right edge...also large black mark in upper middle of photo. 3 and 4) Same photos...canoe with man and woman...one is black and white, the other is sepia tone and has a scallop border....both images are quite good but are dark at edges...I don't think this has anything to do with the developing, just the lighting read more
