1/43 scale very highly detailed discontinued resin kit of the Temple Buell entered, Esso sponsored, Maserati 450S from the 1958 Grand Prix of Cuba race.This is the famous race where Juan Manuel Fangio was kidnapped from his hotel by Fidel Castro's men the night before the race.In the race, Maurice Trintignant substituted for Fangio who was safely released to the Argentine Embassy after the race ended.The kit can be built in one version: The blue #2 car driven by Fangio in practice & qualifying and Trintignant in the race - (11th place)The kit has beautiful resin castings plus excellent cockpit details.It has some beautiful photo-etched parts including a set of fully assembled authentic wire wheels, wheel knock offs, and a Maserati trident logo for the grille.The kit is complete, unbuilt, and in absolute mint condition with all parts still sealed in their original packaging.
