This auction is for a complete set of 45 vintage dishes! Marked Independence Ironstone Castleton Japan. Comes with the original shipping box which includes the original Inspection Sticker which reads Passed Fine For USA & Canada Date July 25 1962 Japan Pottery Inspection Association. The box is pretty beat up but all writing is ledgible & sticker is in beautiful shape! The dishes look unused. probably used very little if at all, but most likely just stored away! I find no chips or cracks or signs of usage. However, Some pieces are crazing. Although it is impossible to get it to show in the pictures, I have tried to include in my description as much as possible! Questions please ask prior to bidding. Set includes; 8- 10 3/4 inch dinner plates. 4 are in very nice condition, 1 has a light rub mark on it, 2 are heavily crazed. 8-saucers. All show crazing 8-6 1/2 inch plates. 5 show crazing, 3 OK 1-serving bowl measuring about 6 x 9 x 1 3/4 inches. 1-platter measuring about 8 3/4 x 13 inches. shows crazing. 1-covered sugar & creamer set (3 piece) light crazing on bases. 8-cups some show crazing. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT ALTHOUGH I THINK THIS SET IS NEW OLD STOCK, IT IS NOT PERFECT DUE TO THE CRAZING. NO OTHER ISSUES ARE NOTED! VERY HEAVY about 40 pounds without packing!
