Roman Republic Q. Sicinius and C. VF+Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon river on January 10, 49 BC and started a Civil War with the Senate of the Roman Republic. In that year Q. Sicinius was in charge of the Roman mint and C. Coponius was Praetor Urbanus in Rome. At the outbreak of the war Sicinius and Coponius left Rome to join forces with Pompey in Greece. Coponius became commander of the Pompeian fleet and Sicinius headed the military mint which made this coin.This coin was purchased from Ancient Galleon LLC and the original coupon is included. It has a beautiful light tone with some bluish iridescence. Please see the other coins I am offering on eBay.
