Hello you are bidding on a Witco inspired tiki mask carved by Ken Pleasant "Keigs". Ken was taught to carve by his grandfather in law William Westenhaver and has permission to carry on the Witco tradition. Witco is known for creating carved tiki, modern, spanish and much more art and decor from the late 50's to the mid 70's. Witco decor adorned Elvis Presley's graceland , Hugh Hefner's playboy mansion and many other homes and tiki bars around the world. Ken's work has also been sold world wide and continues to gain popularity. If you are a Witco fan or a tiki fan you will not be disappointed with this piece. Ken's carvings are made from large custom milled timbers. The wood grain and quality are unbelievable. Look for Ken's work as the featured carver in the spring issue of "Tiki Magazine" and in the new Sven Kirsten book "Tiki Modern and the Wild World of Witco" to be released soon. The mask measures a huge 4 feet tall by 10 inches wide and a full 2 inches thick. The mask is made of cedar with an amazing wood grain finish Witco made famous. This mask will last forever indoors but may fade or check outdoors due to weather. The mask comes ready to hang signed and dated by Ken Pleasant.
