Holy cannoli! We LOVE being "treasure hunters" in Los Angeles as you never know what wonderful finds can be had! We recently bought 25 GORGEOUS estate pieces of Hammersley Bone China Victorian Violets made in England. The pattern has been discontinued and some of the pieces are difficult to find. We will be busily listing them over the next few days. We have included a group photo of the LOT- each type of item will be auctioned separately ei; strawberry basket with cream and sugar, 3-part handled relish, mint tray, plates, mugs, etc.... First up are FIVE Beautiful Hammersley Victorian Violets Bone China Mugs. The mugs themselves are in GREAT condition with a rim of gold and a gold stripe down the handle. One cup has a bit of the gold worn down 1/4 inch long from w a middle finger rested upon it while enjoying tea/coffee. ;-). On the mugs, the gold is in generally excellent condition - t are some bits of wear but the gold is very bright. T are NO chips, NO cracks, NO fleabites and NO crazing. The mugs measure 4-1/8 inches tall and the opening is 3 inches across. ALL the mugs are marked on the bottom: Two are marked as in photo 4 indicating that they were made AFTER Spode purchased Hammersley.
