DESCRIPTION: On auction is a gorgeous HAND PAINTED Made in Japan tea set that consists of a teapot with lid, sugar bowl with lid, and creamer. T are 5 pieces in all. The set is magnificent - the decoration is incredible. T is a handpainted tranquil scene of a sunset (or is it a sunrise) with the orange sky agains a scene of a house by the water - t is what looks like a swan swimming in the water. The scene is framed in a raised gold beaded design. T is a gold raised beaded floral design around the sides and back. The hand painted scene is on one side - the other side is the gold floral design. The handles look handpainted with green and gold. The inside of the creamer is a gold color - the inside of the teapot and T is an iridescent sheen. Please check pictures. My scanner is not working right - the backstamp is in a goldish color - it has 3 leaves and what looks like 4 anchors above - t is the word HAND PAINTED above, and MADE IN JAPAN below. If any knowledgable ebayer recognizes this mark - please let me know. The creamer is 5" from spout to handlem AND 3 1/2 tall. The sugar bowl is 6 1/2" from handle to handle - it stands about 4 3/4" tall to the top of the lid. The teapot is 8 1/2" wide from spout to handle - and stands 5 1/4" tall. Measurements are approximates. The set is stunning and would look beautiful on any table or collection. CONDITION: T are no chips, cracks, age discoloration, or age crazing. The inside of each is shiny and clean. The HAND-PAINTED coloration and gold trim looks intact - but t is some wear. When you turn the pieces over, t is some wear evident on the bottom rim. T may be a pimple, dimple, or pinpoint that is from the manufacturing process. Please check pictures and email with any questions. REMEMBER âe" this set looks great but it is preowned - not new. It looks as if it was carefully and gently (if ever) used. You are looking at antiques not pieces that were just manufactured- and tfore they are not perfect.
