Very Rare 500 Home Run & 3,000 Hit Club Ball Both milestones are very rare and tough to obtain. If one or the other is reached it is usually a ticket into the HOF In the history of Major League Baseball their have been only a total of 20 players who have hit over 500 HR's. The number of players to hit 3,000 or more hits is only 26 ! Over the past 100 years and thousands of players in MLB... T have only been four(4) players in MLB history to accomplish both feats. (Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray & *Palmiero) *Only the three(3) HOF's have done it legally (Mays/Aaron/Murray). I had an opportunity to get Palmiero on this ball but decided against it. I do not believe that he will be inducted into the HOF. Up for bid is a ball with three(3) HOF's who have accomplished a very very rare feat in baseball. The signatures were all personally obtained by me on an Official National League (William D. White, Pres.) ball. The signatures have been authenticated by James Spence Authenticaion - JSA (Certification # B23517). The ball shows very very light toning otherwise it is in excellent bright white condition. The autographs are in the following condition: Mays (Sweet Spot) - excellent, dark & clean Aaron - excellent, dark & clean Murrary - excellent, medium brightness & clean Joe DiMaggio, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams -- these baseball immortals are unquestionably some of the greatest hitters to have ever stepped up to the plate. But none of these stellar performers managed to reach the coveted total of 3,000 career big league hits. That lofty plateau is only attained by those select few who have combined a consistently high level of hitting with a remarkably lengthy career. Indeed, only 26 men are members of the elite 3,000-Hit Club. A number of baseball's best hitters have come close to garnering 3,000 base hits over their major league careers. Hall of Famers Jake Beckley, Sam Crawford, Rogers Hornsby, Willie Keeler, Frank Robinson, and Al Simmons were all within 100 hits of the mark when they hung up their spikes. But, for better or worse, the Club is only open to those who have garnered 3,000 hits, not to those who have simply approached the magic number. Membership in the Club does not come easy.
