Thank you for viewing my auction. I have been collecting for almost 50 years and purchased all my items from the most reputable sources but mostly at auction in London. The majority of purchases were made in the 1960's-80's when good things were available on a regular basis. I will be selling over 1000 items in the next few months so be sure to bookmark the Sunnytampa seller page as I will be adding rare and interesting items on a regular basis. If you are interested in bidding on multiple items, please note that I will combine shipping and make it point to never profit from shipping. Read our feedback and bid with confidence. This is a rare miniature spear point from an Egyptian burial. These are usually dated to the predynastic period, before 3200 BC but I believe they were used into the beginning of the Old Kingdom, perhaps as late as 2500 BC. That's still 4500 years old. It is a finely made miniature of the war spear which would have has a head of about 6 inches. This head is 1 inch in total length, but exactly like the full size examples in every other respect. The stone is selected for its fine color and the expectation was that it would become full size in the after world and serve its deceased owner. Condition is as shown.
