This horn is for sale because the bore seems to be a little too big for me - I hate to let it go, because I love its sound. I purchased this trumpet a short time ago and I had it professionally overhauled and chem cleaned with new corks and felts. Serialnumber is 188328 which is from 1954. It has the Nr. 3 bore which is 0.468 of an inch, it also says "3" on every valve. The finish is 2 colours: nickle silver on the valve block and on all the outer slides, and yellow brass. It has nice engravings on the bell, where it says: "The Martin / COMMITTEE -MODEL / ELKHART - IND. / U.S.A." The horn is in used condition. It has no dents, but he lacquer has signs of wear: on the valve block, on the leadpipe, the tuning slide and on the bell. Please have a look at the close up pictures. The original case wasn't usable anymore with a missing handle and a stuffy smell. I added a good vintage Bach case. The finger ring at the third valve is a replacement and doesn't look original. This model is very famous among jazz players because it was the choice of Miles Davis, Chet Baker and many more in the fifties. So this should be the perfect choice for a jazz player who is looking for a vintage large bore horn with a dark sound. I'm offering this rare trumpet from Switzerland to worldwide, airmail shipping to the States is $59.
