The following year the 50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders) was also authorized for Victoria. Both units provided formed sub-units and individual reinforcements to units of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War 1. During the post War reorganization of the Militia these two regiments were amalgamated in 1920 to form The Canadian Scottish Regiment.
