A very fine antique oil portrait painting on stretchered linen canvas of a distinguished looking older gentleman with white whiskers. It is signed upper right by the artist: C. Loffler 1910 (No bio of the artist available.) The reverse of the frame has paper label reference to Ignatz Ortmann and family. The canvas measures 22-1/2" by 29-3/4". The original gilt compo on wood frame measures 29-1/2" by 36-3/4" by 2-1/4". Excellent condition: painting with original varnishes, no paint peel, not very apparent very fine crazing. The frame is in the original unworn finish, no compo losses.
