This aircraft ranks as one of my top 10 in design. On the morning of Sept. 18, 1959, chief Convair Test Pilot Beryl Erickson, hand flew the B-58 from Texas to California non-stop at altitudes never above 500 ft. and at speeds of up to 720 mph, completely undetected.
