5 Piece Victorian sterling silver and gilt fruit serving set, made London, England, 1886 by John Aldwinckle and Thomas Slater. Spoons 8 1/4" long. 365g Come in original fitted case, silk-lined with gilt lettering under a crown: Mappin & Webb, Silversmiths to the Queen, London & Sheffield. Set consists of 4 serving spoons and a sugar sifter. The handles are chased with masks, rams etc. Urn-form terminals. Hallmarks: JA TS in a 4-lobed hallmark. Leopard head, lion passant, date letter "L" and monarch's head. Great condition.
