Y ou are bidding on several WWII Marine Corp items all from the same soldier (Private George Francis McGrath) whom was killed in action on February 25, 1945 in Iwo Jima. He was assigned to the 5th Marine Corps, 26th Division. This soldier has no surviving family any longer and I hope these items can go to someone who appreciates them. You get several uniform items, most of which have his name stamped somewhere on it. You get ties, a belt, belt buckle w/ Marine logo, several types of hats, shirts, pants, coats, etc. All items are not in perfect shape. The two coats or suit jackets are both missing a large button. The coat belt has some holes in it. Some other items are missing buttons and have replacement buttons sewn on in its place. Some items are dirty and may have holes. The cool thing about this lot is that all these items belonged to the same soldier. You also get an original framed document (COOLEST part of this collection), which is signed (or stamped) by Alexander Archer Vandegrift (General & The Commandant). It is also signed by James Forrestal (Secretary of the Navy). There is also a 6" X 3.25" card showing that he is buried in the Fifth Marine Division Cemetery in Iwo Jima. There is a 9.25" X 7 3/8" picture of this cemetery. I also have a printed copy of a certificate showing that a headstone was placed at New Calvary Catholic
