An attractive set of six Chinese export blue & white porcelain saucers, decorated with 'swimming fish' pattern, early 19th century/c. 1800 description: On offer is this exquisite set of six matching Chinese porcelain saucers, hand decorated under glaze in blue on milky white. These objects are elaborately decorated with patterns of swimming fish within borders of stylized flower motifs, surrounding a single fish pattern. The back rims of the little plates are decorated with flower branches. Underneath their bases these small plates bear a Kangxi four character mark within concentric circles. T is minimal variety in the decoration of the dishes and cups, due to the fact that each was decorated by hand. Nevertheless, this certainly is a matching set, as these decoration varieties are often found on groups of Chinese export ware. All saucer dishes are in perfect condition, without damages, chips, hairline cracks or repairs. All produce a crystal clear sound when knocked by fingernails. Please view these pictures, which give a good impression of the wonderful quality and the outstanding condition of the objects. These saucers were made in China in the early 19th century, c. 1800. The pattern, marking and the deep blue color which was used, indicate that they were made in the Kangxi taste. Popular patterns like this 'swimming fish' read more
