We are offering today a wonderful set of Six Bread Plates, made by Paragon China Company. Paragon was made from 1903 until 1972 when it was bought out by Royal Doulton and disbanded. We believe that this set was made between 1939 and 1949, according to the Double Warrant Mark pictured in Kovells' New Dictionary of Marks, page 14, box A. The pattern number is A 643 or 693. We have not been able to identify the pattern name. This set of six, beautiful bread plates are hand painted and hand enameled. They are designed with an abundance of Butterflies and fruity flowers, and are highlighted with enameling and cobalt blue and gilt borders. The center of each of the scalloped edge pieces contains a gold starburst. The plates measures 6 1/4" in diameter. This auction is for 6 bread plates only. T are no chips, cracks, or crazing and the beautiful set appears as new. Please check our other listings for additional pieces of this pattern. We will combine shipping.
