Today you will be bidding on an earlier version of the Iconic "William" the hippo (8" and 3.5") made in Italy for the Metropolitan Museum of Art under the exacting standards of Bradford Kelleher, founder of the met's gift shop and pioneer of museum merchandising. These 60's Bitossi style versions are prized for their greater attention to detail and striking blue glaze lacking in later versions. Both hippos are in excellent condition
