Uncle Remus Say.......Lookie '! NO RESERVE! This a 1960's Sears Spaceliner L-Tank removed from the Boy's 26" Model Spaceliner Bicycle. These tanks were very fragile and made of plastic the consistency of a potato chip. For that reason they are difficult to find in any condition. This tank is in fair restorative or rider condition needing only some minor repairs. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in solid condition on the exterior with all parts included. are the faults, The Tank shell on either side have little female holes and male pins that hold it in place and together. Most of the little male plastic studs are gone. T are many ways to remedy this requiring only novice tinkering. The two screws are missing that hold the control panel to the tank. No biggie t The Headlight & Bezel Assembly is loose because the plastic tab that the set screw attaches to (inside) is broken. That will need to be repaired. An easy and out of sight repair to make, but it will need doing. Lastly, the Headlight Lens has a very fine crack at the tip which you can see in the picture. It runs down about an inch or so. Hardly of notice except on close inspection. As you can see in the pictures, the plastic chrome is worn mostly off. The lens is dirty with some yellowing and the general condition of the paint is poor with some loss. Still, I think read more
